Pyrenochaeta nobilis var. ilicis?
William de Jong,
14-02-2022 14:14
A month ago I found these black bristles (see pictures) on decaying leaves of Ilex aquifolium (The Netherlands). While Pyrenochaeta nobilis var. ilicis seemed to be a logical candidate, the conidia actually do not match, they're significantly bigger.
Conidia measurements: (9,9-)10,5-12,0(-12,4) x 2,0-2,7(-2,8) µm; avg 11,1 x 2,4 µm; Q = 4,72.
Any thoughts on this?
Best regards,
William de Jong
