Hi
Does someone know what system Jean Mornand used for indicating the cololection place?
I have the data 16.V.1985, F, 49, Vivy, Bois des Monteaux, 1623B. I assume the latter is a rectangle area of a grid system?

Hi Zotto,
1623 is the number of the sheet IGN carte bleu 1:25,000, Saumur Bourgueil where Vivy is situated. The Bois des Monteaux is west of this village.
Here is the section, Vivy in the North of the map:

Ah o.k, I thought it is something like a coordinate. The forest I already found in Google Earth, 4° 20' N, 0° 5' W.
Your second link does not work on my computer.

Re : Jean Mornand
Your north coordinates are wrong (47 instead of 4). Try 47°20'6.11"N, 0° 5'44.93"W

Re : Jean Mornand
Yes of course, and actually the system is quite the same as the MTB in Germany, very inaccurate in terms of coordinates but a good tool for mapping.
