Pyrophilous hairy disc
Zuidland Peter, 12-08-2021 09:48
Hello all,
I have found a small group of hairy discs growing on charcoal in a recently burnt eucalyptus forest; disc sizes vary 1-3mm.
Spores are biguttulate with occassionally one guttule; sizes: 14-15.2 x 7.4-8.4um, no ornamentation seen in methyl blue.
Asci: 140 x 12um, -ve lugol's
Hairs coming from a simple base.
I initially thought I had found Tricharina gilva again but this is different.

Sth Gippsland, Australia

Help appreciated
Peter

Re : Pyrophilous hairy disc
Hi Peter

Compare with Trichophaea hemisphaerioides?

Re : Pyrophilous hairy disc
Wow, many thanks Mirek for your rapid reply.
You suggestion fits my micro very well but images of that species I found on the net are different but I suspect the group I found are immature.

Best regards

Peter
