Sarcosphaera coronaria var. nivea
S. Rebecca, 26-06-2021 23:42
Hello from Zugspitze / Ehrwald in Austria. I think what I have found on June 11 is S.c. var nivea. Can anyone confirm? The spores have matured in the refrigerator but they will not expel even under heat, so I did not measure them.
Found on Fagus roots exposed on a hiking path at approx. 1250 m asl. Picea was also present, but I am pretty sure the roots were off the fagus.
I measured 4 asci. They were 280-300µg long. It doesn't look like the paraphyses are septated. I would appreciate comments.

Hi Rebecca,

this var. seems to be not rare.

Regards Peter.

Hello Peter, it's probably easily overlooked and also not recorded. It was not in the Austrian Myko Database and had to be added in so I can report it. I just wanted confirmation that it is correctly id'd. Which, in the meantime, I am sure it is. LG und bis Blaubeuren?
