Tremella versicolor look-alike
ida Bruggeman-Nannenga, 20-12-2019 15:08
This gelatinous species is conidial stage. It grows near and on Peniophora and looks like Tremella versicolor. Even under the microscope the detached conidial clusters with attached hypha remind of T. versicolor. But it is not that species.

It has much better developed hyphae, some which are finely incrusted, there are no clamps

Re : Tremella versicolor look-alike
I wonder whether this could be Hormomyces peniophorae.

However, that species appears have abundant haustoria and in spite of thorough search I failed to see any. Is anyone familaiar with this species?
