Ascobolus sacchariferus 240516
Miguel Ángel Ribes, 03-08-2016 20:39
Miguel Ãngel RibesGood night, friends

I have this Ascobolus growing in Sus scrofa (boar) dung, 24/5/2016. I think it is A. sacchariferus witout doubt, buy I prefer your opinion, because I have see the flesh is blue with IKI, not the asci.

Spore measures in H2O, live: (16,4) 17,4 - 19,7 (20,6) × (7,5) 8,5 - 9,5 (10,2) µm; Q = (1,9) 2 - 2,2 (2,3) ; N = 97; Me = 18,7 × 8,9 µm ; Qe = 2,1.

Asci with 8 spores, inamyloid and with croziers, I think.

Paraphysis sometines moniliform and sometimes with protuberances.

Thank's a lot.

Hello Miguel.

To me your fungus seems to be A.Saccariferus; for the reaction it is better to try to observe on young Asci (pictured 7) at the walls.

Regards.

Michel.

Re : Ascobolus sacchariferus 240516
Merci Michel, I will see more attention another pictures with young asci.

Tienes razón, Tomás, dije "carne" y tenía que haber dicho base de las ascas y de las paráfisis, porque en el excípulo medular no se observa el azuleamiento.

Gracias.

In this pictures I see bluish in paraphysis and asci base, but not in asci apex.
