Nick AplinSalut à tous, I am trying (and mostly failing!)
On a dead leaf of Ilex aquifolium, covered with Ilicina Trochilia, I found a hairy, small perithecium.
I think it is: Pyrenochaeta nobilis var. Ilicis
FRB: diameter 280 µm;
Hair: 355 x 8.5 µm multiple septa;
Conidia: cylindrical 6.02-8.29 x 1.36-2.05 µm.
I have no literature on this fungus except Ellis and Ellis.
Can I ask two questions:
1) does anyone have more info on this species;
2) when making my preparation I saw a cloud of small, globose to ellipsoid "conidia" (see White arrows) emerging:
3,64-4.69 x 2.52-3.21 µm. Is there a relationship with this Pyrenochaeta?
Best regards
François Bartholomeeusen

Thank you very much, but I can not find a digital version on internet.
I will have to continue my search!
Thanks again and good evening,
François
