Jakob Schneller, 01-10-2015 17:27
Jakob Schneller

Asci ca. 80-100 um, porus blue in Melzer, quite hidden in many papahyse-like structure, spores unicellular, 18-20 um. fruitbody stalked, brownisch, quite robust up to about 1 mm, excipulum quite thick, with mostly elongate cells . growing on leaves of Selaginella selaginoides. Hopefully somebody can help me. Thanks

Jakob

Dear Jakob

Re : Asco on Selaginella selaginoides

Dear zotto

I have collected it on 12. Sept. 2015. If you want I can send you a probe.  It is dry, but possibly it may be still of use. It is really an interesting fungus.

yours sincerely

Re : Asco on Selaginella selaginoides
You should actually try to study in the fresh state. You see it in this forum. Whenever samples are figured only in dead state, identification becomes problematic for me. I am then unable to recognize only the genus with certainty.

No, please don't send. I am punished presently by reviewing manuscripts that are based on herbarium material alone - terrible!
