Old Hypoxylon fragiforme, with Cosmospora sp. growing on it.

Re : Hypoxylon ?
Hypoxylon fragiforme should have an amyloid apical ring (J+). According to the synoptic key of http://pyrenomycetes.free.fr/hypoxylon/index.htm there do not exist hemisphaerical species without such an apical ring (at least in Europe). Did you check the KOH reaction (H. fragiforme = orange).
