Mollisia with pyreno-like subiculum
Perz Piotr, 22-10-2007 00:23
Hi,

this is one of my Mollisias from Salix.
- ect.exc. brown tx.globulusa
- long refr+ VBs in paraphyses
- KOH+ (not good visible under my old Camera)
also sure - it is Mollisia.

This Mollisia grown on subiculum. I have more that one population and allways with the same sobiculum, so it is sure, that is subiculum.
I'm sure, that this Mollisia can be easy identified after the shape of subiculum hyphae if somebody of you has seen this fungus.

Sorry for not good quality of Makros, in Juli my old Camera was not in good condition.

Subiculum hyphae looks like overmatured and germinated spores of Pyrenomycetes ;)

Re:Mollisia with pyreno-like subiculum
I don´t think that the "subiculum" belongs to the Mollisia. Rather I suspect that this is Trimmatostroma salicis, a very common hyphomycete on dead dry Salix branches. But I am unaware of a Mollisia that prefers growing inside this hyhomycete.

Re:Mollisia with pyreno-like subiculum
Chmmmmm..... I found this Mollisia ONLY assoc. with this "subiculum", so I was thinking, this is subiculum; I never found this Mollisia w/o this black "hypho". If this is a Mollisia, that is ?parasite on Hyphomycete - this this can be intresting.
So I will try do identyfi this fungus via "ON BARK OR WOOD" way in key, but this seems to be some kind of association.

Here is what I also think to be Trmmatostroma salicis. It grew beneath apothecia of my undescribed genus Xerombrophila (dry Salix branch). Conidia *5-7 µm wide.
