I found an unknown (to me) discomycete species on resin of Pinus sylvestris. Bright yellow, 0.25 mm in diam. Although I only got very sparse material, it is just enough for a little portrait. The remaining stuff will be sequenced.
Spores: 16-22 x 6-7.5 µm, one celled (may be two-celled, when overmature). Asci (IKI neg.) 135 - 155 x 18 - 22 (fully turgescent). Hairs with a yellow pigment, dissolving in KOH, paraphyses small, not very capitate, septate, no exudates visible.. Any hint? Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Guy

Re : one more disco on resin
Hi Guy,
that reminds me of this "Crumenulopsis" sp. that I found twice on branches of Pinus sylvestris. I showed my first find here: http://ascofrance.com/search_forum/8587. Maybe sequencing will tell us more?
Best wishes,
Gernot

Thanks Gernot for your hint (und für den Wink mit dem Zaunpfahl;-).
I up-loaded more than 20 pics here, but can't see them.
Cheers,
Guy

Re : one more disco on resin
Yes of course, it is this marvellous discomycete without a generic and specific name.
But isn't it bark on which it grows? Probably close to resin, but is the resin blackened or fresh?
Yellow exudate is abundant and characteristic of this fungus, also on the hardly inflated paraphyses. Maybe you meant that no visible contents are in the paraphyses?
Yes, a sequence will hopefully lift the mystery about this fungus.

Re : one more disco on resin
I think this KOH-solubility of the exudate could run under ionomidotic.
