Today I have found on a robinia Eutypa. Because of the long peritecies necks I had intended this as E. spinosa. However, the spores are much shorter. Only 3-5.5 x 1.5. Asci J +.
Did any idea?

Mikroskopische kommt es gut hin, allerdings Makroskopisch überhaupt nicht (nach Rappaz.) Da liegen die Perithecien Hälse in einem Stroma.
Übrigens, hat die Art ja eine Endlose Synonymliste nach Rappaz.

Hast Du einen Schnitt ins Substrat gemacht? Da müßtest Du das Stroma sehen mit den einzelnen Ascocarpen, aus denen die Hälse herausragen.

I agree with Martin. The necks can be very long or rather short, immersed in a stroma or nearly without one. The species is very variable in its macroscopical characters.
Ich stimme Martin zu. Die Hälse können sehr lang oder eher kurz sein, eingebettet in ein Stroma oder fast ohne ein solches. Die makroskopischen Merkmale der Art sind sehr variabel.

Du hast bei Deinem Schnitt das Stroma im Randbereich erwischt, man sieht es aber. Noch einen Schnitt weiter nach hinten wird es wohl deutlicher.

Hi Peter,
your photo of section is sufficient to say that it's Eutypella. Ascospores of Eutypella scoparia are the smallest in the genus and the size of ascospores from your specimen are rather well with thoses of this species.
