Trouvé dans une rivière ardennaise lors des JME. Probablement sur Picea.Périthèces éparpillées, noires, allongées, dont seule l'ostiole émerge. Long. -> 0.75 mm.
Asques 8-sp., sp. unisériées; asques x 6.5-7 µ, à appareil apical bien développé, 2 x 2.5 µ.
Spores très guttulées, hyalines, 14-19 x 5-6 µ.
J'ai toujours le morceau de bois, je dois regarder s'il reste des exemplaires si des observations complémentaires (IKI,...) doivent être effectuées.
Une idée?

Hello from PEI, Canada:
I have collected something very similar several times in Prince Edward Island on submerged wood. I also tentatively identified it as a Phomatospora but could not find a species name. I'm afraid I don't have any photos but the following is a short description (compiled from several collections).
Phomatospora on pale part of wood (often staining substrate yellow), ascomata often longitudinally flattened due to immersion in wood , ostiole round, spores 14-16x (5)6-7u, hyaline with 1-2 oil globules, appear faintly striate, uniseriate in the ascus, asci 180x8u, 2 small dots as the apical apparatus, iodine neg (tincture of iodine), paraphyses not observed but may be evanescent.
I don't have this article but it might be worthwhile to check Phomatospora aquatica on submerged wood (Minoura & Muroi. 1978. Some freshwater ascomycetes from Japan. Trans. Mycol. Soc. Japan 19:129-134).

Christian et Alain, merci pour l'article. Cela correspond bien: les spores sont striées dans l'encre waterman, j'observe localement le léger jaunissement du substrat (le même que sur la photo dans l'article), et les asques sont IKI -
Récolte: le 21.08.06, Rossart, ancienne gare de Rossart, Bertrix, prov. de Luxembourg, Belgique, dans un ruisseau aux eaux acides sur phyllades, dans la traversée d'une pessière.
Et bien voilà, l'espèce est recensée en Belgique aussi.

Waterman est une marque (oups !) d'encre couramment utilisée par nos élèves, nos enfants et nous mêmes qui écrivons à la plume. Elle donne, comme l'encre de Chine des résultats probants pour observer notamment les enveloppes visqueuses présentes autour de nombreuses spores (dans les Pleosporales par exemple).

these international websides can cause some misunderstandings. I use Google translation and it makes some very funny sentences from France to Finnish. Lots of imagination is needed and naturally something can stay forever shady or misinterpreted.
For instance I've never used ink in fungal determination. Some ink though tens of years ago in building structure drawings...
