Rhytismatales on Picea abies
Marja Pennanen, 19-06-2010 11:45
Hello,
I found these on the bark of Picea and once again just couldn't determine them.
They are about 1-3 mm wide and when dry they are just black slits.

Spores are about 25-40x1-2, asci 120-180x6-10 and paraphyses curved, 1-2 micrometers wide.

Hi Marja,
maybe your fungus is Colpoma crispum?
Regards,
Christian

Hi Christian,
and thanks, Colopoma crispum seems to fit.
Besides being a new species, this is an opening of a new genus for me :)
