Hymenosc. stroma leaves Acer
Viktorie Halasu,

would anyone recognize this nice Hymenoscyphus?
H- , short but "inflated" scutuloid spores, yellowish VBs, excipulum t. prismatica
Substrate is a stromatized petiole, based on the cross section it might be Acer (definitely not Fraxinus which has many more vascular bundles), one collection was directly under Acer negundo. Riparian hardwood forest, place shaded from draught.
It think it's related to Andgelo's collections here:
http://ascofrance.fr/search_forum/54432 and http://ascofrance.fr/search_forum/49925
Thanks a lot in advance. It will be sequenced but I don't really expect to find a match in GB.

Interesting sample! So the entire epidermis and parenchym below has disappeared from these stems. The stroma seems obvious though sometimes more brown than black. Andgelo's samples have longer spores. I am curious of what you find out with sequencing.
Was it collected last Sunday? I want to add the date, also to Ombrophila limosella.

Re : Hymenosc. stroma leaves Acer
Dear Zotto,
the first set of photos is from Horka nad Moravou, near the Podebrady lake, under Acer negundo, Fraxinus excelsior, F. pennsylvanica, 200–220 m, 49°37,407' 17°13,693', leg. 2. IX. 2020.
The second set of photos is from Olomouc-Cernovir, "Cernovirsky les" forest, near a spring (Fe3+ mineral water), under Acer negundo, Ulmus, Rubus fruticosus, ca. 220 m, 49°37,300' 17°16,240', leg. 18. IX. 2020.
The Fraxinus petioles hosting Rutstroemia longipes were also often reduced to just the xylem and very little of phloem.
That brown parts below sclerenchym are actually full of hyphae (normally there are large isodiametric cells). There was some anamorph on the surface too, but I haven't seen any konidia and don't know whether it belongs to the same fungus.

Re : Hymenosc. stroma leaves Acer
Thanks. Looks really black. The empty zones (holes) are probably the consumed phloem.

Re : Hymenosc. stroma leaves Acer
Sorry for disturbing the Hymenoscyphus discussion, but if you mean the South Bohemian collection of Ombrophila limosella, the data are as follows:
Czech Republic - South Bohemia, E of Cerná v Pošumaví, on soil with small mosses in a Picea forest, ca 750 m a.s.l., 30 September 2020, leg. Z. Sochorová

Re : Hymenosc. stroma leaves Acer
Bonsoir,
Très intéressante récolte qui ressemble en effet beaucoup à la mienne. Je n'ai pas encore pu identifier le support, mais sur cette station il y a également Acer negundo.
