Mick PeerdemanHi all,One of my earliest microscopy attempts, so
This enigmatic diaporthale makes subepidermial, roundish, blackish, up to 250 microns in diam., perithecia with central short beak on overwintered stems of Geranium pratense at the sea level.
Thes short stipitate asci have a conspicuous refractive melzer negative apical apparatus and the non septate ascospores have polar roundish caps at the poles, only visible with chlorazol blak.
I explored keys on Gnomonia-like fungi with no success.Have you some idea for me?
Many thanks in advanceEnrique
Hi Enrique,
This amazing fungus is probably new.
Alain
Could you suggest me a genus?
Yes, because of a pseudoseptum on Melzer-photo, I thought at Apiognomonia too, but is it really a septum ? I don't think. Find the genus is difficult without molecular data, you know . Gnomoniella ? not impossible. I've no more knowledge than you.
Sorry,
Alain
Thank you for help me, Alain.
