Peziza on wood
Perz Piotr, 18-10-2006 11:08
Hi :)

I have Peziza with ornamented Spores and a big trouble with identyfication. Take a look:

MACRO: http://wwkk.mikologia.pl/temporary/ascofrance/peziza_20061016_002/20061016_002_macro.jpg

MICRO: http://wwkk.mikologia.pl/temporary/ascofrance/peziza_20061016_002/20061016_002_mikro.jpg

SPORES: http://wwkk.mikologia.pl/temporary/ascofrance/peziza_20061016_002/20061016_002_spores.jpg

Description:

APOTHECJUM
--------------------
10-25mm, on WOOD immersed in soil. The soil was black, but there was NO fireplace (must be tested one more time).
No color juice in hymenium, medulla or basale part, no stem. For color see photo!

PARAPHYSES
-----------------------
4,0 µm, septate, apical 6,0-11,5 µm with YELLOW, globose VB's. IKI- but VB's color change to HYALINE with KOH (not disapears - only color removing). Some apicaly branched.
??Simple but some looking like a little moniliforme. For apical-forme see the photo!

ASCI
--------
Apex 8 spored, IKI+ blue, relative ??thin walled, 260-295 µm / 17-19 µm

MEDULLA
----------------
textura glubulosa, cells 50-80µm, outer cells smaller - t.globulosa intermixed with t.intricata. Hyaline GEL between excipular cells stain YELLOW with KOH. GEL also present in subhymenium, also KOH+. NO t.intricata part in section (like for example by Peziza vesiculosa)

SPORES
--------------
ornamented, 18-20,5 µm / 9,5-10,3 µm w/o ornamentation, NO drops of OIL. Ornamentation of RARE, isolatetd, globose warts, c.a. 0,9-1,3µm / < 1,0µm high. Some Sp. w/o ornamentation on surface and only with APICULATE warts (section Phaeopeziza??). For ornamentation patters see foto!

With Nordic Macromycetes I, Hohmayer or Haeffner i can not find this species. This is not P.echinospora cause diferent Sp.ornamentation & no textura intricata part on section. This is not P.phyllogena (see Haeffner 1995) cause no blueysh juice at base, no OIL drops in Sp. and smaller Ap.

See the paraphyses content - a pretty yellow VB's :)

spores
Spores are 100% ornamented. I was microscoped clean spore-print on glass. This Peziza was fully mature, with a big, white cloud of spores :) Here are no artefacts from other caprion of fruitbody. Ornamentation cam be seen also w/o CB.

my Peziza on wood
With Hohmayer key I was searched on all substrats - soil, burned places, wood..... no results. When trying to identyfi with NO ORNAMENTATION (spores smooth) - very similar is Peziza granulosa.... but my spores are all ornamented.

Any idea, my Asco-friends ?

Best wishes from Poland

Re:Peziza on wood
Cher Collègue,

Ta récolte me fais penser que tu as peut-être récolté Peziza acroornata Dougoud & J. Moravec.

Merci d'avance,
