Pestalotiopsis neglecta? On Prunus laurocerasus

Jorian EijkelboomOn 6 february 2025 i stumbled upon a leafspot on a longtime dead leaf of Prunus laurocerasus.

Could anyone confirm that this is indeed Petslotiopsis neglecta, or something different out of the Sporocdaceae family?

Based on the conidia it was already to place in the Sporocadaceae family. 

Acervuli ca. 0.1 mm diameter.

400x magnification 1 div. = 2,6 ?m (photo 6-8)
1000x magnification 1 div. = 0,9523 ?m (photo 9-22)


Conidia N=50

Length: (19,99-) 21,90-24,75 (-26,66) ?m
Width: 6,2-7,6 ?m

Endcells hyaline, middle cells lightbrown (upper two cells sligthly darker brown as the lowest) with 2-3 apical appendix 11,4-16,2 ?m long, basale appendix 3,8-6,7 ?m long.


(ascospores too small for P. maculans, less than < 8?m width, appendixes short

Dank voor de reactie! 

Het blijft een soortenrijk genus inderdaad. Soms is het best een klus om uit te sleutelen om welke soort het nu precies gaat. (De Sporacadaceae sleutel is hierbij echt een zeer goed instrument, klasse-werk!) 

Ik zag P. neglecta in de beschikbare sleutel via KMV al wel bekend was van: Cornus sanguinea, Euonymus japonicus, Hedera helix, Vaccinium en Zea mays. Wordt Prunus laurocerasus in andere artikelen wel genoemd als waardplantsoort, ik kon daar zo gauw niks over vinden. Het is uiterraard al wel bekend dat het genus Pestalotiopsis niet zeer waardplantspecifiek is.
