Anamorphic on oak leaf.
Josep Torres, 12-12-2024 09:30
Josep TorresHello.
I found some small black perithecia on an oak leaf, these were already in poor condition and when I tried to cultivate them in a humid chamber, I found some yellow gelatinous ascomata, more or less globose in shape, very small in size, only between 0.5 and 0.7 mm. in diameter.
Very short conidogenous hyphae that produce very slightly allantoic conidia with a pointed end shaped like a beak and measurements of:
(18.1) 18.9 - 23.6 (24) × (2.9) 3.1 - 3.5 (4.1) µm
Q = (5.3) 5.6 - 7.2 (8) ; N = 40
Me = 21.5 × 3.3 µm ; Qe = 6.5
With development, hairs appear that protrude far above the level of the hymenium. These hairs are very abundant when conidiogenesis is finished.
I think I have seen something very similar to this before here, but as hard as I try, I cannot find it.
Any suggestion from you will be appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance.
Kind regards.

Hi Josep,

this is Infundibura adhaerens.
You can also compare with my finds here:

Re : Anamorphic on oak leaf.
Thanks Thorben.
Of course it fits perfectly with your work, without your help I would never have published this one as there is very little information on the net.
Again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Kind regards.

Re : Anamorphic on oak leaf.
Just to try, I'm adding some images of the black pyrenomyceros in case someone comes up with something.
The images are bad since I could get little from its microscopy.
Very regular perithecia, black and globose in shape, between 0.20 and 0.25 mm, grouped in some cases forming circles on the upper surface of the leaf.
Hyphae of the perithecium wall very pigmented.
In the hymenium there is little to observe, only some conidogenous hyphae that produce ellipsoidal conidia with measurements of (3.3) 3.4 - 4.2 (5.7) × 2 - 2.3 (3) µm.
Kind regards.
