Scutellinia cejpii/superba
Joaquin Martin, 06-07-2024 21:49
Hello,

I found this Scutellinia on Fagus, on very degraded and totally wet wood.
The spores measure 22-25 x 11-13 µm and the hairs do not exceed 500 µm.
I have looked at several keys and web pages and I am not at all clear about the delimitation of the species S.cejpii and S.superba, as I think it is one of the two.
Could you help me.
Thanks

Re : Scutellinia cejpii/superba
Bonjour
Je serais plutôt favorable à ceijpii compte tenu de la taille des spores et de l'aspect étroitement élliptique de ces dernières.
L'étude de la base des poils et le montage dans le bleu coton des spores devraient permettre de trancher.

I would agree with Alain. The inequlateral spore shape is also a good indication of cejpii
