Ionopezia gerardii agg. with or without crozier / avec ou sans crochet
Nicolas VAN VOOREN, 16-05-2023 20:09
Nicolas VAN VOORENHello, good evening.
Ionopezia gerardii (syn. Peziza gerardii) represents a species complex. One of the characters that could allow to separate the phylospecies is the presence (or absence) of croziers at the base of asci.
I have studied several collections, with or without croziers, and I try to know if this character can be associated with other features like ecology, altitude of growth, etc.
So if you want to help me to evaluate this point, please check if croziers are present or not in your collections, and share the corresponding data with me.
You can put your data here or in private (nicolas@vanvooren.info).

Thanks.

Re : Ionopezia gerardii agg. with or without crozier / avec ou sans crochet
Hi Nicolas
I have examined only two collections of Ionopezia gerardi and in both cases the asci were without croziers.
The altitudinal floor was 700 for one of them and 50 m for the other. Both in sandy soil under deciduous trees.
