Melittosporiella on Salix caprea in Sweden

I found this Propolis-like fungi on dead branches of Salix caprea in central Sweden today and have worked with it this evening. I came to understand by the thick ascus wall and 3-septate spores (~20x3µm) that it is a Melittosporiella and according to Ove E. Erikssons 'Checklist of the non-lichenized ascomycetes of Sweden' M. pulchella might be a common but overlooked species here whith only a few records. But as I have gone through threads here it seems that pulchella is a mediterranean species and M. (Propolis?) angulosa is described from north? Are there any recent studies?

Hi yes, I think that you are correct in your determination of M. angulosa. I'm working on a revision of the genus now and material from Sweden would be good to have. Any chance that you would be able to send some to me?

fantastic Johan, please, is it air-dried? If so I can get the fungus in culture and make sequencing a lot easier! I will send you my address in a message. Thank you so much!

I also think it is M. angulosa. Since my homepage still does not work, here my key.

Jason, I air-dried it overnight in room temperature, will post it during the day and hope that you can confirm M. angulosa wich seems to be new for Sweden.
Hans-Otto, thanks for posting the key and confirming M. angulosa!
