Lamprospora vs. Octospora
NC NC, 14-04-2009 22:10
hello forum,

i am in search of informations, which are concerned with the (strange) integration of lamprospora into octospora. in my view lamprospora is very good separated by globose spores and strong ornamentation (mostly reticulation). but recent studies seem to reject lamprospora. what are the intentions for that besides bryophily as a unifying aspect (which in my opinion can never be a main criteria to create a genera)?? or does anybody know
Wang, Yei-Zeng; Kimbrough, James W. (1992). Monographic Studies of North
American Species of Octospora previously ascribed to Lamprospora (Pezizales,
Ascomycetes). Special Publication no. 4, National Museum of Natural Science
and its basic argumentation?
i know that benkert doesn't follow this integration ...
