Allophylaria on petioles
Juuso Äikäs, 10-10-2022 10:08
These hyaline - pale yellow fruitbodies were growing on petioles together with Typhula erythropus. The place was dominated by Alnus glutinosa, and there were also at least Salix caprea trees nearby. Alnus is probably the likeliest substrate.

Asci 8-spored, with croziers, IKI+ dirty red. Paraphyses narrow, widened at the tip, with a VB. Ectal excipulum of textura oblita or porrecta, methinks. Spores 13.7 - 15.2 × 4 - 4.6 µm.

I think this belongs to Allophylaria, but no clue about the species...

Re : Allophylaria on petioles
This fits well A. nervicola, which I often found on Acer but often also on Alnus and various other trees. The related A. subhyalina occurs instead most predominantly on Acer but has larger spores with acute tips.

Re : Allophylaria on petioles
I checked your folder, and yes -- this seems to fit quite nicely. Btw, the date in my photos is always the date of collection.

Re : Allophylaria on petioles
Ah, I overlooked the date, thanks! I have now checked all your Helotiales for the date and corrected those where I missed your data. But for some older ones the date is missing: Hymenoscyphus fructigenus aff., ~6.IX.2020, Hymenoscyphus phiala, ~17.VII.2020, Albotricha acutipila, ~8.VII.2020, Mollisia ~8.VI.2020 and ´Coryne´ terrestris, ~12.VIII.2020

Re : Allophylaria on petioles
Here are the correct ones:

Hymenoscyphus fructigenus aff. 7.IX.2020
Hymenoscyphus phiala, 17.VII.2020
Albotricha acutipila, 6.VII.2020
Mollisia (cf. fusca on Vaccinium) 8.VI.2020
´Coryne´ terrestris, 14.VIII.2020
