Orbilia sinensis?

Hello,

we've found this nice Orbilia which looks much like O. sinensis, except for the large VBs in marginal excipulum cells. Is their presence a variable character, or is it rather a short-spored form of O. tenuispora?

Riparian hardwood forest, more wet place with mostly Acer negundo and Fraxinus pennsylvanica, some poplars and F. excelsior in the tree layer. On A. negundo, dead young trunk laying on the soil, on both wood and bark.

Spores straight to slightly bent, xceptionally slightly sigmoid, both poles seem rounded.

Thank you in advance.

Re : Orbilia sinensis?
O. tenuispora and O. sinensis are tentative species, Delimitation was no easy but the Chinese types are clearly differentiated by morphology and DNA. Whether there exist only 2 yspecies we do not know. This group needs much more work on more samples. So it would be a first step to take a sequence (ITS) of this one.

Re : Orbilia sinensis?
Dear Zottto,
thank you, I will put aside a sample for future seq. and check the morfology better.

In july I had another one from the same forest, where I wasn't sure whether it is O. orientalis or O. yunnanensis. I don't have the images (hopefully they will be recovered eventually), but if I find it ever again, that too would be best solved by sequencing, right?

Thank you and have a nice evening.
