Black perithecia on the Fraxinus twig.
Mirek Gryc, 13-02-2022 09:53
Hello all
Does anyone help me identify this fungus?
Black Perithecia grew on the fraxinus twig without bark (diameter about 1.5 cm).
Spores: (16.7) 16.9 - 18.6 (19.1) × (6.9) 6.94 - 7.8 (8.2) µm.
In Lugol, changing the color on the greenish.
best

Hi Andgelo
Indeed, you can be right, nothing else fits better to this species. Initially, I had fears and thought it was a different species because of the small spores.
Only when I read the description of this genre in the publication: "Multi-Locus Phyllogenetic Analysis of Lophostomatoid Fungi Motivates A Broad Concept of Lophostoma and Reveals Nine New Species", I come to the conclusion that the length of my spores is suitable for this species. According to the authors, this species has a very large range of spores. Although they think that you probably are a species complex
Thank you
Mirek
