Psilocistella (?) on wood
Camille Mertens, 11-01-2022 14:34
Hello all.

Hairy asco found a week ago on half rotten wood.
Spores : 6,5 - 9,0 x 2,6 - 3,0 with lb's
Asci : 45 x 6,5 , conical apex
Croziers : +
IKI : bb
Hairs : smooth, thin walled
Excipulum : prismatic

Could it be Psilocistella vernalis?
Thank you for your help.

Camille

Re : Psilocistella (?) on wood
Hi Camille

"Wood" is relative, coniferous or not?

This reminds me of Psilocistella quercina,  redescribed by Quijada et al. But the hairs look unusual.

your CrB looks like not in water but in a lethal agent.

Re : Psilocistella (?) on wood
Thank you Zotto.

I forgot to mention that the wood could be oak, definitely not coniferous wood, and hesitaded between P. vernalis and P. quercina.
You are right. I was wrong and used Crb based on alcohol.
Best regards.

Camille
