Sporormiella minutisperma
Joop van der Lee, 21-02-2021 15:14
Joop van der LeeFound on cow dung.

This species drew my attention because of the amount of spores on top of the ostiole, otherwise it would have been hard to find because this species is, apart from the neck, fully immersed.
My first impression was S. pulchella but the measurements do not comply with the description and drawing of the spores by Ahmed & Cain for this species.

Perithecia: Immersed; subglobose 185 um high and 225 um wide with a short neck measuring 58.5 um high and 72.0 um wide (at the base).

No paraphyses observed

Asci: 8-spored; 75.9x7.8 um extending to 97.6x9.5 um with a long stipe.

Spores: Longitudinal multiseriate; 4-celled; 17.7-21.5x2.9-3.3 um; straight or slightly curved, transversely septated; end cells longer than mid-cells; germ slit oblique; no gelatinous sheath observed.

Germ slit is barely visible but can be seen on photo-7

Re : Unknown Sporormiella
Look at Sporormiella minutisperma, in my opinion it's more like this species!

Michel.
