Rhytismatales on Rubus
Juuso Äikäs, 20-01-2021 15:58
Last February I found these fungi growing on a fallen cane of Rubus idaeus. There's only a microphoto of asci in water and MLZ (possibly immature?) left. A few spores measured inside asci: 10.6 - 12.5 × 4.7 - 5.1 microns.

Not a huge amount of data, but can something still be said?

Re : Rhytismatales on Rubus
The asci in water are alive and look fully mature. Are these convex apothecia or do the ascomata have a covering layer of sterile tissue that finally breaks into lobes?

Re : Rhytismatales on Rubus
I don't think that any had broken open, but I got the feeling that they would do so eventually. The inside was soft and translucent and the surface was more leathery if I correctly recall.

And there were no paraphyses? Perhaps it is Phacidiales?

Re : Rhytismatales on Rubus
Yeah, doesn't seem to have any paraphyses. But maybe I'll try looking into that direction!
