Thorben Hülsewig, 30-12-2020 19:23
Hi there,

two weeks ago i found this Hyaloscypha on wood (quercus).
Could it be Hyaloscypha minuta ?

best regards,
Thorben

Re : Hyaloscypha minuta ?
Hi Thorben

I do not see the ascus base clearly enough (croziers absent?). Are the asci inamyloid?

How long are the hairs?

Re : Hyaloscypha minuta ?
Hi Zotto,

the hairs are difficult to see but i try to measure and came up with no longer than 15 Mikrometer.
At the ascus base i see this crozier-like think, but it looks like that the fungus has no crozier.

best regards,
Thorben

Re : Hyaloscypha minuta ?
Yes, H. minuta may have basal outgrowths.

The spores are quite narrow, but I remember variation in L:w ratio in this species.

Re : Hyaloscypha minuta ?
Thanks Zotto,

now i save the asco as H. minuta and I am sure that more finds will come together in the near future.
I am curious to see whether the spores will then also remain so narrow.

Wünsche dir einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr
Thorben
