Hi Laurens
On the basis of the substrate and assuming this collection really concerns the genus Cytospora, it could be Valsa ambiens or V. sordida (teleomorphs). You need to check whether the conidiomata are stromatic (see drawings of cross sections in the Cytospora paper by Adams).
