I do not have ascomata macro photos, it grew on a dead raspberry shoot. I only had one fruiting body at my disposal.
This is the first time I see something like this at Hymenoscyphus. I am not able to determine if it is a parasite or some cells are bloated?
Maybe you have already encountered something like this?

This would be good to study in living state. Paraphyses would contain VBs, but I cannot imagine that for these inflated structures.

Such extended elements were present not only in the hymenium. See the last two photos: these are ectal cells.
I took photos from a fresh fruit. I also have photos taken in the water, but their clarity is much weaker.

Maybe the apos looked fresh but were dead, otherwise the clarity would have been better.
