Elaphomyces asperulus?
Juuso Äikäs, 12-09-2020 16:43
Yesterday I found a fruitbody of Tolypocladium capitatum in a Picea abies dominated forest. I dug beneath it and found it's host -- an Elaphomyces of some kind.

I measured a few spores and their diameter was 19,5 - 23 microns. There were many collapsed spores in the sample and some greenish-bluish tissue as well.

What do you think -- could this pass as E. asperulus?

Re : Elaphomyces asperulus?
I think this is correct - the spore ornamentation in combination with the vinaceous peridium (in section) seems typical.
Best, Lothar
