Blackish, gelatinous apothecia on Picea abies twig
Edvin Johannesen, 18-06-2020 23:47
Edvin JohannesenApothecia 1-2 mm, convex when moist, concave or wrikled when dry. Excipulum gelatinous, blackish brown, interior (humenium) whitish. Asci club-shaped, gradually tapering towards the base, IKI negative. Spores variable in shape, narrowly to broadly spindle-shaped, or sometimes more bulky, becoming 1-septate, most spores with a rather long appendix (spike) at one (or sometimes both) ends. 20-25 microns long, width highly variable.

Assiciated with green algae in places. Possibly lichenised?

Suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

Hello Edvin,
compare with Tryblidiopsis. P. pinastri occurs on Picae twigs, despite its name.
Best regards, Zuzana

That is spot on. I wonder how i failed to spot it myself, since it is a rather common species in Norway.

Thanks, Zuzana.
