Difficult, I am not aware of any key. Munk (1957) describes three hardwood species. Larois et al. (1988) have made a comparison between C. gregaria and C. abietina (Larios, J.M., Honrubia, M. & G. Moreno (1988) Estudio de los hongos que fructifican en la vegetacion relicta de Abies pinsapo Boiss., en España peninsular. II. Ascomycotina. II Acta Botánica Malacitana 13: 91-11); this paper can be downloaded with the link at

You could also try to find the protologues via Species Fungorum.
