Elsa Sousa, 29-07-2017 17:04
Good afternoon,

(51) 60.3 - 69.7 (76.6) × (8.4) 9.6 - 11.9 (12.6) µm
Q = (5.3) 5.31 - 7.3 ; N = 4
Me = 65.2 × 10.6 µm ; Qe = 6.4

Is it possible any help/clue?

Thank you very much.

Hi Elsa,

pictures are blurred. But could it be Pseudotrichia viburnicola? Better pictures available?
What do other colleagues think, familiar with this fungus?
Portugal would be no problem for the distribution of this omnivorous species, au contraire.

Martin

Well, Paul had the same idea. Would you mind to send me the collection data (date and site)? I am recording all informations regarding this species. This would be a "first" to Portugal.

Re : On Magnolia grandiflora bark
Hi, thank you both, Paul and Martin,

After reading something about Pseudotrichia viburnicola, I think you're right!
I have a very small sample, and few pseudothecia, so I didn't want to waste it, before I post this message. I can repeat micro now, but the fungus could be old, as I didn't find any asci on this first micro.

Location and Date: Riba d'Ave (Vila Nova de Famalicão);  21/07/2017

Thank you guys, you're amazing :)

Regards
Elsa

Re : On Magnolia grandiflora bark

Re : On Magnolia grandiflora bark
Dear Paul,

Thank you for your suggestion and opinion. I do not have lactic acid. On last photo I show a change of colour to purple after NaOH (I do not have KOH), and that's all I can do.

Elsa
