Wentiomyces sp. ?
Ralf Dahlheuser, 27-02-2017 09:46
Ralf DahlheuserFound on a rabbit dung. Very probably not coprophil, but growing in connection with either algae or lichens covering this dung. I think it is a species of the genus Wentiomyces, but i dont know which.

Pseudothecium 80-100 µm, with horn-like excrescences.
Asci bitunicate, vigorously dextrinoid
Spores 15.9-17.5 x 4.8-5.6 ?m

Re : Wentiomyces sp. ?

Hi Ralph,

¨Perhaps somewhere  in the genus Neocoleroa ?

Please, compare with N. inundata for example.

Did you measure setae ?

Re : Wentiomyces sp. ?
Hi Alain,

sorry for the late reply and thank you for the hints. I collected some more samples and examined them. Also I took more pictures and the setae measured. I think Neocoleroa fits. I think the substrate is the algae I photographed here. Unfortunately I have no literature about N. inundata. In the work of Barr or Müller & Arx I find nothing suitable.
