Re : Mellitiosporium propolidoides
Hi Elisabeth,
I think there's little doubt about M. propolidoides. In my experience it is a rather common species in montane forests, growing on decorticated wood of conifers (I have collected it on Picea and Pinus sylvestris)Â which is often bleached around the apothecia. It seems to prefer old-growth forests or at least semi-natural areas, is that also the case in your find?

Best wishes,
Gernot
