Helminthosphaeria on Skeletocutis carneogrisea

Hi friends,I have collected Skeletocutis carneogrisea and fortunately I decided to collect old fruitbodies too, from which I believed to find ascos.
And as always, I really found something: very small (0,4mm) hairy perithecia growing on the pore surface, with spores around 5,6-7,2x3-4µm and asci 50-65x6-7µm, with 8 spores and unitunicate. Hairs about 70-100µm long, septate and typically "lasiosphaerioid" (not black and not so stiff like hairs of Coniochaeta etc.).
Any ideas about a Helminthosphaeria species growing on polypores with these small spores?
regards,
björn

Hi Bjorn,
if I were you I would not rule out Coniochaeta so easily. Did you check the presence of germ slits on ascospores?
Cheers,
Jacques

Re : Helminthosphaeria on Skeletocutis carneogrisea
Hi Jacques,
yes, I did, but I could not find any. I will nevertheless check species of this genus. Thanks for the hint ;)
arr ok, Coniochaeta kellermanii. But I do not know this species to grow on pores of Skeletocutis. Enrique has worked on it a time ago, maybe he can tell us what he thinks.
