Re : Tomentose pyrenomycete
Echinosphaeria cincinnata. Could you please send me the specimen? Ann Bell and I have been wanting to sequence this species for several years now. GREAT DISCOVERY!!!

Re : Tomentose pyrenomycete
Dear Andrew,
Wow, that is a clear identification of an interesting species. Using your 2014 key I considered this species but the original description does not refer to the long papilae (necks) which are hidden in the tomentum. Also such a striking species only known from New Zealand appeared to be rather unlikely to be found in the Netherlands. I will contact you by email.
Regards, Eduard

Re : Tomentose pyrenomycete
Thank you. I have found (and seqeunced) Cercophora spinosa from USA, Argentina and New Zealand. I don't think anyone can explain fungal distributions... ;o)
