Scutellinia problem
Ralf Dahlheuser, 10-08-2015 18:00
Ralf DahlheuserHello.

This Scutellinia is a mystery to me.

I have found it on swampy soil. Matured apothecia measures 5 - 15 mm. Marginal hairs not different from lateral hairs. Hairs are short, thick an brownish transluscent. Roots mostly unbranched, rarely bifurcate, thick walled, 1-3 septate. A very few Hairs are forked, one stellate. Ascospores verrucose and/or incomplete reticulate. Ascopsores wall not loosening when heateted in cotton blue.

Thank you.

Re : Scutellinia problem
Did you compare S. convexa/torrentis? I think there are only very few species with oil drops only near the poles, and my drawing seems here to fit quite well to your fungus.

Hello Zotto,

thank you for your answer.

S. torrentis was my first option. But: "Ascopsores wall not loosening when heateted in cotton blue".
I could always observed that in my previous collections of S. torrentis as yet.

But I do not know if that has to be always.

Hi Ralf
I am sorry I have no experience with that feature. Hoped that Benat will answer you.
