Pyrenopeziza ''longipilosa''
Michel Hairaud, 11-06-2015 16:08
Michel Hairaud

Bonjour à tous,

Has someone already met this Pyrenopeziza with unusually long hairs ?

These apothecia were on a previous year's stem of Cirsium palustre , among Pyrenopeziza carduorum, P. atrata and Unguicullela incarnatina (the tiny white thing scattered among).

Hairs up to 100 µm and 8 septa assembled into strands at margin

Ascus 40-50 x 5-6 µm, H+, IKI-, PS 20-22; spores 8-10 x 1,8-2 , OCI 0,5

Paraphysis x1,5-2,2. EE T globulosa , wall dark, diam. 8-12 µm.

Could it be a singular form of atrata as the other characters would fit ? I also wonder whether someone has already sent such fungus but I can't trace it (ENrique ?) and feel sorry about it if it is the case.

Merci pour vos avis

Amitiés. Michel

Re : Pyrenopeziza ''longipilosa''
Hi Michel
I think I see a positive IKI reaction there.

I assume you know my folder
Rumex - Cirsium hairy

There you said IKI intense blue. There are several samples on Rumex but one on Cirsium.

Re : Pyrenopeziza ''longipilosa''

Many thanks once again, Zotto.

In your file there is a collection of mine on Rumex in La Moleson (Switzerland) in July 2012 which seems close  but for the larger spores 10,5-14 x 2-3 (versus 8-10 x 1,8-2 on Cirsium ) and larger ascus and wider paraphyses. The same type of hairs.

I can see Nicolas had such a collection too.

Amitiés. Michel

Re : Pyrenopeziza ''longipilosa''
yes, and spores also larger: 10-13 (14) x (2) 2.3-3 µm.

That on Cirsium by Björn Wergen hat spores small: 8,5-10x1,3-1,6µm

And one on Cardamine also by him again 6.7-9.8 x 1.5-2.1
So i should make a separate Rumex folder
