Je me demande comment faut il appeller cet asco car dans les CD de Zotto il n'y a de nombreuses fiches sur parthenope sp et aussi un Parthenope pilati dans une clé. S'agit il de la même espece à chaque fois ?
Petite description micro: voir aussi fiche Zotto 3253-1
Spores minuscules 2,5-3,5(4) x 1,5 (2) µm un peu fusoide et avec 1 ou 2 guttules de 1µ au maxi.
Asques 40-50 x 3-4µm porus BB, avec crochets avec 8 spores souvent uniserieés.
Paraphyses 1µ et 3 au maxi (parfois legerement elargie au sommet)
Excipulum ectal brun foncé avec des cellulesbrunâtres parfois arrondies 12 x 10 µ ou polyhedrique (16 x 8µ). La marge se termine par des cellules allongées mais pas globuleuse comme les mollisia en general voir fiche Zotto 6432.

I wonder how this asco needs he(it) to appeller because in the CD of Zotto there are numerous index cards(forms) on parthenope sp and also Parthenope pilati in a key. Is a question it of the same espece every time? Small description : to see also does(throws) Zotto 3253-1 tiny Spores 2,5-3,5 ( 4 ) x 1,5 ( 2 ) µm little fusoide and with 1 or 2 guttules of 1 µ in the maxi. -Paraphyses 1 µ and 3 in the maxi (sometimes legerement elargie in the summit) dark brown Excipulum ectal with cellulesbrunâtres sometimes round off 12 x 10 µ or polyhedrique (16 x 8 µ). The margin ends by lengthened(stretched out) cells but not spherical as mollisia general to see do(throw) Zotto 6432.

Je crois que Parthenope pilati a été trouvé par C. Lecuru et R.Walleyn sur très vieux Hètres ( en 2002?) mais ça doit être une espèce rare. Ils ont peut-être une réponse à tes questions ?

of course it is always the same species on the DVD, and identical with your fine collection.
The name Parthenope pilati Velen. is surely wrongly applied here, but on the other hand the type material of it has never been reexamined (since many years I am waiting for types from PRM). I have a paper in preparation on this very remarkable fungus since many years, and it has still no name, although the genus Peltigeromyces seems to be a good choice.
It would be nice if you could tell me where and when you found the species and which trees were around. It occurs not rarely on Fagus, but also Alnus and Acer. It is not difficult to identify the host genus when looking on a cross-broken part of wood with a hand lens.
Recently I saw the species again, from Chemnitz, and for the first time its anamorph which forms small yellow cushions:
of course it is always the same species on the DVD, and identical with your fine collection.

Récolte le 14.10.07 à Lucelles (68) Françe par Gérard TRICHIES mais trés proche de la frontiere suisse (La frontiere = la riviere) sur bois non determiné. (la 2éme photo est de lui).
J'essaierai de determiner le bois demain mais sans garantie.

Thank you for the answer, I stay on parthenope pilati for the moment. Harvest on 14.10.07 to Lucelles (68) Françe by Gérard TRICHIES ,but close to the Swiss frontiere (The frontiere = the riviere) on wood not determiné,(the 2éme photo is of him). I shall try to determiner the wood tomorrow but without guarantee.

Sorry, I saw that the Alnus collection in my files was Alnus incana. Which Alnus species do you or Gérard expect at your site? Could you please tell me also the approximate altitude? I would like to cite your collection in my forthcoming paper, so I would also like to mention the name o the forest area. I suppose it is calcareous soil?

I use stereomicroscope (20 x) and echantillons de several wood for recognizing.
Forest area: in the village (very smal) lucelle.
