Steve ClementsBonjour, This disco is abundant on dead stems of
I found yellow disco on Miscanthus sinensis in Japan, November, 2013.
Apothecia gregarious on dead stems near the ground,
up to 5 mm diam., pale yellow., somewhat gelatinous (like Ascocoryne cylichnium).
Stalks up to 8 mm., whitish.
Asci IKI+, 180-220 × 15-20 microm.
Paraphyses 1.5-2.0 microm., multiguttulate, slightly clavate to 3 microm.
Ascospores fusoid, 50-65 × 6.5-8.5 microns.
Medullary hyphae about 3-6 microns diam., space filled with gel.
Very long spores seem to be characteristic, but I have no idea what it is.

I have nothing on Poaceae in my database with such spore size.
Would be good to look for the croziers. The excipulum looks really gelatinized. The cortical hyphae are guttulate and probably the paraphyses are also when alive. Do you have a photo of them?
Zotto
Yes, this spores are very big, nearly twice as long as A. cylichnium's spores,
and paraphyses are guttulate.
This is an enigmatic species for me. Â

And, this forum replies very quickly.
