Two interesting types of discomycetes
Godorova Olga, 24-01-2014 16:59
Godorova OlgaHello, dear friends. I'd like to post pictures of two interesting discomycetes, that were met and pictured in warm costal region of Israel.
That time I had no chance to make mycroscopy check, but still wonder, what these could be. Tried to search for pictures in the internet, but found nothing like that. Maybe someone could say, what it could be and where to search about the Family and the Genus of each one of them.
Thank you in advance.
Olga

Re : Two interesting types of discomycetes
Hi Olga

Nothing sure without micro... but because of the change of colour in the hymenium of the first species and its macroscopic appereance, one could think in Lambertella. Which is the substrare underneath?

For the second, the colours remind me to young apothecia of Kallistoskypha incarnata (=Caloscypha incarnata), but you should have Eucalyptus in the area. Any ecologucal data?

But as I say, without any other data, it is difficult to give a good opnion, just some guesses.

Do you have any sample stored?

Cheers,
Raúl

Hi Friends,
Lambertella seems like a good guess ... Anyway a Rutstroemiaceae. The pink species I exclude Kallystoskypha beyond habitat by young samples seems different .... I thought Rhodotarzetta or Rhodoscypha ...

Re : Two interesting types of discomycetes
Thank you, Raul, and thank you again, Carlo. :)
Yes, there are lots of Eucalyptus in the area, and sometimes there are Cupressus. That was warm, mostly sandy, costal area, but no any specific data, as I was there by chance. Could just picture the mushrooms, but had no chance to collect and store mushrooms for check.
But thank you anyways, you gave me good ideas, where to look. I hope, next time I see them, I'll be able to collect them and make some mycroscopy.
Olga.
