Hi,

Could somebody give me any clues of possible genus for this observation?

Thank you very much.

Re : Genus guess
Hi,

thats very difficult to say, without any microscopical characteristics. Do you have a microscope? If not, you can send me the finding and I will examine it and upload the photos to ascofrance for further discussion.

björn

Re : Genus guess
Thank you for your reply, Björn. I would be very grateful if you could analyze the sample. I would need an adress to send the finding because unfortunately I have not the means to do microscopy on it.

Elsa

Re : Genus guess
Hi Elsa

I agree with Björn, without micro nothing can be sure, but macro (resemblance to Lasiobolus) and habitat suggests me Luciotrichus lasioboloides. If there is enough sample for both I would be glad to check it too. If not, only send to Björn.

Muito obrigado!
Raúl

Hi Raul,

It's very nice of you, it's me who has to thank.
I'm not sure if the samples are enough, I don't know how many specimens do you need for the test. There's only one big, and some medium sized and others smaller. I don't need any one, so I'm very pleased to send you some, just give me an adress.

Thank you

Best regards,

Elsa

Re : Genus guess
Hi there,

as promised, I have received Elsa's collection and I think, it should be Luciotrichus lasioboloides. Unfortunately, I do not have the paper in which this species is described (Galan & Raitviir 1995 in CM 47/4 p. 271). Maybe someone can send me this to check it for myself.

Photos are attached. Many thanks to Elsa for sending me this interesting finding.

regards,
björn
