Calycina cruentata

I've been puzzling over this specimen for a while. Having compared it with some of Zotto's images I think it is Calycina cruentata. It also compares well with a previous post on Ascofrance.

It was growing on dead monocotyledonous leaves (Phragmites australis or Cladium mariscus) in lowland fen.

Apothecia are white, short-stalked, <0.5 mm diameter.

Excipulum is of thin-walled cells. Marginal cells are ca 20 µm, with oil-filled contents.

Asci 45-60 x 4-5 µm. Not sure whether croziers are present or not. Reaction of ascus tip in IKI is ambiguous – apparently red in some cases, but seemed to be blue in others.

Paraphyses are ca 2 µm wide, with oil-filled contents.

Spores (7-)8-10 x 1.5 µm, with a few small oil bodies.

Am I correct in identifying this as C. cruentata? Thanks in advance for help.

Marcus

Re : Calycina cruentata
Yes, clearly C. cruentata.

The blue IKI reaction appears at low concentration, the red at higher.
