A lachnum?
hannie wijers, 28-05-2013 20:46

On a couple of different leaves I found this hairy Asco. The measure of the hairs 57-72 x 5 µm and septated 4x wirh large christal caps.
Paraphysis measure 57-66  x 2,5 µm, one sept.
Measure of asci 33-38 x 3,5 µm.
Measure of spores 8,2, 10, 12,5 x 3,5 µm.

I didn't get any reaction with Melzer.

I was looking in Fungi non delineati 31 and saw the picture on page 46 ( Incrucipulum densiseptatum).

I wonder if this could be the same. Can anyone give me a tip to look for? Maybe I have to do something else with the asco?

Thank you anyway

Hannie

Dear Hannie

I guess that you have Brunnipila fuscescens (= Lachnum fuscescens). I think a faint blue reaction of the ascus tip can be seen on your photo.

I. densiseptatum has a yellow-orange disc and white hairs and grows on grasses.
