Joop van der Lee, 07-05-2013 17:09
Joop van der LeeFound on horse dung.

Excuses for the photo's they are not so good in focus.

The fruitbody has a short neck, the neck and upper part of the fruitbody are covered with stiff short hairs with thick walls.

Asci: 99.98-115.05x11.52-11.64, 8-spores, mostly first two spores at the apex and the last one near the stalk are in vertical position, the others are in an oblique position

Spores: 11.40-12.55x8.28-9.64x5.59-6.87 um with a parallel germ sliit.

Re : Coniochaeta Tetraspora?
Hello Joop.

Still a
difficult genius, should be measured spores outside the asci, it also allows you to carefully observe their shape.
You can also observe the shape of the hair, and their distribution on the surface of the fungus.

Re : Coniochaeta Tetraspora?
Joop,

Cain ( Univ. of Totonto Studie.

Michel.

Re : Coniochaeta Tetraspora?
I have examined new species today and here are the results.

Hair distribution: Dense number of long stiff hairs in the neck area, the rest of the fruitbody is covered with curved hairs. Both hairs do have thick walls.

Asci: 100.71-108.18x10.32-10.80 um.

Spores: slightly oval shaped with parallel germ slit running in the middle of side view of the spore. 10.13-11.58x8.27-9.39x4.38-5.62 um
I could only find free mature spores with frontview, measurement of the sideview spores have been done while still in the asci. But I only measured sideview spores when the germ slit was in the center.
