Ciborinia sp.
Carmel Sammut, 01-02-2016 15:47
Collected on soil between two olive trees amongst grasses.

I think this is a Ciborinia but I do not know the species.

It appears close to C. candolleana but the spores are too large.

About 3mm in diameter, sclerotium of similar size

Asci 8-spored, IKI+ve, I think croziers +ve, 125-165 x 10.3-12.7µm
Spores 11.1-12.9 x 6.1-6.9µm Mean 11.9 x 6.4µm
Paraphyses simple, septate
Ectal excipulum - globular cells

Sclerotium is rounded but laterally flat.

Re : Ciborinia sp.
Can anyone suggest a key for Ciborinia? I cannot find any.

Hello Carmel
here is what I keep from an online key no more available.
Synoptic keys to the inoperculate stromatic discomycetes in the Nordic countries, Sclerotiniaceae & Rutstroemiacea, by T. Schumacher & A.Holst-Jensen
It probably may help you
